About The Music Industry
TheMusic.com.au is published by Street Press Australia Pty Ltd.
We are an integrated music media network with an engaged audience of more than half a million people each week.
Our audience is highly active and responsive, and uses the Street Press Australia network to help navigate the often-overpopulated world of culture.
We connect through a shared love of music.
The Street Press Australia network includes Australia's leading music and entertainment online and print publications.
Street Press Australia Pty Ltd started its journey in 2006 with the purchase of Drum Media (Sydney) and Inpress. The aim of the company was to create a national street press network which rapidly came true with the launch of Drum Media (Perth) in September 2006, and the purchase of Time Off in April 2008. Soon afterwards Rip it Up was added to the network via an agency agreement.
In November 2010 the Australasian Music Industry Directory called Street Press Australia home, followed soon after by Australian Musician in October 2011.
The Daily SPA, SPA's first digital asset, was launched in March of 2011, quickly building a reputation as being the daily entertainment news bible. In August 2011, Three Magazine was born out of the ashes of 3D World, the dance magazine Street Press Australia purchased in 2009. Three Magazine – named in the top 20 iPad magazines in the world - was the start of the iPad revolution within Street Press, which saw all of the weekly titles release weekly iPad editions in November of 2011.
The journey that commenced in 2006 sees Street Press Australia reach, in 2012, its second major goal: the creation of a user-friendly, highly accessible music and entertainment portal.
A privately Australian owned family company comprising shareholders actively involved in the management of the business.
